p. 229-238

Abstracts

This paper presents a new research which is beginning in the french universities: the census of the sanctuaries and places of pilgrimage known in France in the past and today. The project has been recognised by the CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) under the umbrella of a very broad research group investigating medieval religion, directed by Hèlène Millet (CNRS) and Nicole Bériou (University of Lyon 2 – IUF). A same work is actually in achievement in italy under the direction of Professors André Vauchez end Giorgio Cracco. These two inventories deal with subjects (the saints’ cult and the iconography of saints) which are closed to other data bases realised at the same time in England, France and Switzerland.
